Guilty Gear is a series of sprite-based fighting games by Arc System Works and designed by artist Daisuke Ishiwatari. So far, they have been working with Arc System Works to bring Guilty Gear and BlazBlue to Europe. Zen United was founded in 2009 as a game publisher for a consortium of Japanese developers to release their games in Europe. Aksys Games publishes many games for Arc System Works in North America, and has even assisted the latter in releasing the Bit.Trip series in Japan. Despite their similar names, neither company owns the other. The company's name is derived from Arc System Works with whom they have a partnership (Arc System Works). Aksys Games is best known for its involvement in the Guilty Gear series. Some of their clientele include Namco Bandai, XSEED, and Atlus USA. Aksys Games was founded by Akibo Shieh in 2006 as a localization company specializing in Japanese-to-English translation of games and anime.

Arc System Works is best known for its arcade 2D fighter, Guilty Gear and its sequels. It was founded by Minoru Kidooka in 1988. The first set of grand finals was back and forth, as LostSoul took game 4 with a throw into the corner and a follow up. Unfortunately for him, a calculated trade from Kazunoko's attack put a pin in LostSoul's sequence and an end to the game. With his back against the wall and only a small bit of health remaining, LostSoul began mounting a comeback in game 3. After enduring a ferocious pressure string from Kazunoko, LostSoul found his opening and claimed victory in game 2.

LostSoul answered back with some sharpshooting from full screen away. With a quick dash up into Dust, Kazunoko was able to close out the first game of the first set. Right out of the gate, Kazunoko began making this set look like a repeat of winners finals. After defeating TGQ|Zenzen in losers finals, LostSoul found himself right back up against the player who sent him to the losers bracket. That's not where the story ends, however. Kazunoko's pressure continued to put a hurt on Elphelt, ultimately ending with a perfect in the final round and the result being 3-1 for Kazunoko. Unfortunately for LostSoul, his game win was the high point of winners finals.

Though Kazunoko almost began mounting a comeback, LostSoul kept him honest by mashing out a punch during the gap in his pressure, which put the Elphelt player on the board. In the third game, LostSoul had Kazunoko on the ropes with only a small chunk of health left.

Kazunoko's Raven proved dominant, kicking off with a 2-0 lead over LostSoul. These two competitors first clashed in Winners Finals. Kazunoko sat on the winners side and was the only player to defeat LostSoul earlier in the tournament, sending him to losers.ĭespite the odds being against him, LostSoul and his Elphelt triumphed over the fighting game veteran, and with a truly impressive comeback.

The grand finals came down to WN|LostSoul and GGP|Kazunoko. While there were a number of great competitors in attendance and a favorite to take the whole thing, an underdog battled his way to grand finals and emerged victorious. Earlier today, we saw the incredible conclusion to the Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 top 8 finals.
